The paper investigates the influence of stator teeth width
on developed cogging force in four sided permanent magnet
linear generator configurations. In order to optimize the performance and minimize the cogging force of the
generator, a method is proposed to set the translator adjacent
sides’ permanent magnet allotopia. The analysis has shown
that the cogging force is minimized only when the translator
adjacent sides’ permanent magnet allotopia is 7.5mm and the
stator teeth width is 8mm.
