IntroductionGuava (Psidium guajava L.) is an important fruit crop of sub-tropical and tropical regions of the world. It is successfully grownall over India and contributes 0.4% of total fruit production withestimated production of 1.75 million tonnes from 0.25 millionhectares (Singh and Pal, 2008).
There is tremendous demand offruit for fresh and processing purpose in both domestic and inter-national markets. The share of guava in fresh fruit export fromIndia is merely 0.65% which can be further boosted, if fruit isproperly handled after harvest.
