Although several studies have been performed on the luminescence
of Eu3+ ions, only a few articles have reported the luminescent
behavior of Eu3+ ions in CaSiO3. The silicate based hosts
were normally synthesized by the solid state reaction method,
which had some disadvantages such as high sintering temperature,
nonuniform mixing and more impurities [10–12]. Hence, it is necessary
to follow an alternative low synthetic method to prepare
pure luminescent material. Hence, we have prepared the materials
using solution combustion synthesis method, it is more advantages
over solid state method because of it is simple procedure, fast reaction
time and economically viable. In this paper, the luminescent
properties of CaSiO3:Eu3+, Bi3+ have been thoroughly examined as
a function of Bi3+ concentration. Further, we have also investigated
the energy transfer between Bi3+ to Eu3+ and proposed possible
mechanism.
