This may be due to the relatively narrow temperature range (6 °C) tested. Temperature acclimation across a similarly narrow range of temperatures (0 °C to 6 °C) did alter percent lipid in the liver of adult Antarctic eelpout (Pachycara brachycephalum; Brodte et al., 2006). While 6 °C may induce a change in the more stenothermal eelpout, it is possible that lipid profiles of certain tissues during later life stages may be more temperature dependent.
