Air resistance and thermal conductivity. In this study, the air
resistance (R) of the 12 fabrics was recorded; the results
are shown Figure 5(a). The air permeability of a fabric
is closely related to the construction characteristics. Xu
and Wang14 and Xiao et al.15–17 found that there were a
number of factors affecting the air permeability of
fabric, such as fabric porosity, pattern and thickness,
yarn cross-section, etc. Figure 5(a) indicates that the
fabric architecture plays an important role in fabric
air resistance and permeability. One-way analysis of
variance was also performed on the data in order to
test and assess if there was a significant difference
between the means of honeycomb fabric samples with
different weft densities at the significance level of 0.05.
