The result revealed that all of them showed more than 90 per cent
of popping. Testing for preference was also done without flavouring
or seasoning. The acceptance of all tested popcorn revealed
that nine lines of popcorn were better in softness, thirteen
lines were better in crunchy and eight lines were less in crust.
Then, twenty two promising lines were selected and their
seeds were bulked for further population improvement next year.
