Step 1. Collection of data, formation of a spatial base and input of
data into the GIS. This step makes it possible to enter, accept and transform
spatial and thematic data in a digital format. The input data are
mainly taken from cartographic documents, field recordings, various
plans and statistical reports. For the purposes of this kind of study, it is
generally secondary methods of data collection that are used, by
georeferencing and digitalizing analog cartographic products. By entering
theminto the GIS, each criterion fromthe parameter group is represented
in the form of a spatially defined vector or raster map, whose
layers represent different attributes which have different ranges or
scales of values.
