Against this background we deemed it of interest to
compare the antihypertensive efficacy of enalapril with
that of lisinopril after
4 weeks of treatment in mild to
moderate hypertensives in terms of blood pressure
control at rest, during dynamic and isometric exercise
test, and during
24 h-with special focus on blood
pressure control during the morning hours,
18-24 h
post-dose. Furthermore, we set out to compare the
ACE activity in serum before and after
4 weeks of
(“chronic”) treatment with these two drugs and to
relate the changes in blood pressure to those of ACE
activity serum.
