Action Steps: Getting The CEO To Sponsor Education and Lifelong Learning
1) Find out what the CEO must accomplish in the organization and then propose how learning will align with these goals.
2) Set up an advisory group of business line managers to help shape the curriculum development process and ensure curriculum maps meet their business challenges.
3) Set up individual meetings with each business manager. Rather than sell the recommendation top down be sure to include at least one of their suggestions into your overall design and their contributions to the final product will build enthusiasm for the project.
4) Maintain an on-going dialogue with this group of business managers. Ask for their output continuously. Include them as senior advisors in keeping the program targeted and linked to business goals.
5) Obtain business manager guidance to create a metrics system so learning is measured according to specific goals.
