levels [5–10] as well as for the determination of organic compounds
[11,12]. Right up to the present day, the BiFE has already
been accepted in many electroanalytical laboratories worldwide
and reviews [13–15] have been published on the analysis carried
out with it. In recent years, the antimony-film electrode (SbFE) has
been reported to perform on a par with MFE and BiFE inASV[16,17].
The newly proposed electrode offers a remarkable performance in
more acidic solutions (pH ≤ 2), which can be advantageous in electrochemical
analysis of trace heavy metals [18–20]. Nevertheless,
there has not been any work presented regarding the application of
a Bi–SbFE in electrochemical stripping analysis for measuring trace
metal ions.
In this work, bismuth and antimony were simultaneously plated
into a glassy carbon electrode (GCE), resulting in the formation of
the Bi–SbFE.It has all ofthe advantages of BiFE and SbFE in detecting
trace metal ions. We have demonstrated the successful application
formeasuring trace Cd(II) by Bi–SbFE.Also,the new electrodematerial
was compared withBifilmandSbfilm. The experimental results
indicated that the electrode exhibited more excellent response to
Cd(II) than alone the BiFE or SbFE.
