Memon in [29] has reported that CMM maturity levels considerably influences the software development effort and productivity. ElEmam and Goldenson [13] in an comprehensive review of studies and publications on the implementation of SPI methodologies, including CMM, reported qualitative performance improvements in terms of, higher quality, higher productivity, improved ability to meet development schedules. Donald et al. [12] conducted an empirical research to find out the relationship between quality of the products, organizational process maturity, development effort, and project schedule. Their findings indicated that process maturity has an effect in reducing software development schedule and effort.
