Management of EDF’s Individual Scholarship Funds
Each selected student is required to open a joint bank account with his or her homeroom teacher in order to receive the scholarship funding. All withdrawals from the account must be for education-related purposes and are based on the discretion of the homeroom teacher.
Usually the scholarship funds are used to cover transportation costs, lunches, school uniforms, school sports gear, stationery, report-writing materials and the cost of relevant extracurricular activity which are not fully covered by the Government's education policy.
Learning & Life Improvement Projects
Library Project
The libraries in many rural schools are equipped with old, outdated books, magazines, reports and manuals. Rather than inspire a love of reading, they put children off the task and starve their imagination. Sometimes libraries completely lose their role and potential and are simply used as storage spaces. NUF’s Library Project strives to create effective library spaces in rural schools to inspire life-long learning beyond the classroom.
NUF is helping by allocating funds and overseeing the construction and renovation of libraries and pays for new books and other materials. Also NUF organized fun activities that inspire a love of reading and life-long learning.
