In recent years, the closed-type greenhouses are widely used to plant the anti-season flowers, fruits, vegetables, etc. As a result of the short sunshine time in the winter and early spring, the plant’s growth is slow. The illumination insufficient problem in vegetables fruit cultivation out of season impels researchers to seek means to change this condition. Meanwhile, using modern greenhouse to creat the ideal growing and illuminiting conditions for the increase of the vegetable’s prodution is a development trend for countries all over the world especially the developed countries. At present, the common artificial supplementary lighting systems are fluorescent lamp, high-pressure sodium lamp, metal halide lamp, etc. But these artificial light sources applied in the supplementary lighting system have obvious drawbacks. For example, their spectra are mainly linear spectral line which causing a mismatch with plant photosynthetic absorption spectrum. Only part of wavelengths from the lamp can be absorbed by the plants and other wavelengths of light are wasted. Second, the power consumption of the incandescent light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, high-pressure sodium lamps and metal halide lamps is very big, at the same time they produce a lot of heat. So they cannot expose the plants on a relatively close distance to plant. Third, these artificial light sources are not energy-saving lamps compared with the newly developed LED light sources. On the above comprehensive analysis, the incentive efficiency of these traditional lights on the plant growth is not high, and they greatly increase the cost of artificial lighting [1]. Therefore, artificial light supplement technology has so far been applied only in the high value-added flowers growth. It has not been widely used in agricultural production. In recent years, with the greenhouses are applied more and more in agricultural production, the research progress of artificial climate chamber and the improvement of agricultural science and technology, the research on the light supplement technology in the greenhouses and decrease the cost of artificial supplementary lighting have become more and more important. New type energy saving and high efficient light supplement technology are becoming a hot area of research in recent years. The successful development of the new luminous material provides an opportunity for the solution of the problem. And the new type and energy saving LED light source is the best choice as the supplementary lighting system.
