Bar B Q Plaza beefs itself up
Bar B Q Plaza Co, operator of the Japanese-Mongolian barbecue chain, will become a regional brand by opening 50 new restaurants in Asean over the next five years.
Twenty will be in Malaysia, 15 in Indonesia and 15 in two other countries, with Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar under discussion.
Assistant managing director Chataya Choopojcharoen said the company will choose countries with a big enough population to support 5-15 stores.
Bar B Q Plaza began expanding abroad in 2005 with its first outlet in Malaysia.
