The following example reviews ways in which some of these principles can be integrated into a complex process in CE to monitor and improve scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance (IPM) services.
Problem
The current monthly IPMs completion rate is 52%. Some IPMs take several months to complete. Some IPMs are not completed. IPMs included a variety of tasks, including electrical-safety inspections, operation checks, and periodic maintenance procedures. Procedures are not well-documented.
Goals
Identify timetable to complete monthly IPM services. Identify critical equipment to be included in this program. Deploy resources proactively to prioritize and complete IPMs in a timely manner.
