Uniform cutting is assumed along the cutting edge in orthogonal cutting. Therefore, it is known as two-dimensional plane strain deformation without side spreading of the material. Hence, the cutting force acting on the rake face of the tool, normal to the cutting edge, is exerted only in the direction of uncut chip thickness. One of the important aspects of the machining is the force acting on the tool. In the scientific analysis of metal cutting, knowledge of the forces is also required. Rake angle is one of the most important parameters to determine the tool and chip contact area. Excessive wear is caused by large clearance face contact with machined surface which leads to an increase in cutting forces [25,26]. In order to develop model from machining process, results obtained from experiments are analysed and discussed in the succeeding subsections.
