The main objective, therefore, is to propose a cooperative technique, called CARTIM (Cooperative vehiculAR Traffic congestion Identification and Minimization), for detection and
reduction of congestion in vehicular networks, using the IEEE 802.11p standard [1] to exchange, in real time, information
about the current traffic situation. To achieve this, the proposal uses a fuzzy logic-based system, and a heuristic that aims to
reduce the travel time of drivers, allowing route changes and improving the flow of vehicular traffic in case of congestion.
