The developed aptasensor is based on the competition between biotin labeled OTA and free OTA to bind with aptamer attached to the screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) surface. This strategy was further employed for the first time to detect OTA in cocoa beans sample. Good OTA recoveries (82.1–85%) were recorded with% RSD of 3.87%. The advantages of these electrochemical aptasensors are their feasible miniaturization, consequent portability and the use of less expensive
equipment. The exploration of MIP columns, SPEs and the optimization of appropriate ALP dilutions will certainly make an
impact on biosensor economy and real tests.
