THE growing demand for high-quality child care combined with the difficulty of hiring maids have brought brisk business to local day care centres.
Day care owners and managers said most Bruneian parents are now aware of the importance of early childhood education and are prepared to invest in it by sending their children – some of whom are even barely two-years old — to child care centres.
“Parents are always seeking the best childcare centre in the country because they want their children to receive the best care from the best day care,” said Datin Dr Asmah Morni, founder and chief executive director of KindyKare International in Kg Sg Tilong.
She said KindyKare’s toddler kare programme — which are geared for children between the ages of 19 months to 36 months — is the most popular programme among working parents. KindyKare charges $365 a month for a five-hour day care service, three times a week and $630 for a 10-hour per day slot. Some parents even avail of the higher-priced $720/month programme for a ten-hour, five-day child care services.
