subtilis in biological control of A. niger (Podile and Prakash, 1996).
Moreover, it was found that the induction of lipoxygenases LOX
13HPODE and LOX 13HPOTrE by B. subtilis AF1 significantly
inhibited the growth of A. niger as well as caused extensive lysis
of A. niger and reduced the incidence of crown rot in peanut (Sailaja
et al., 1998). Antifungal activity was also found in Pseudomonas sp.;
P. aeruginosa GSE18 reduced pre-emergence rotting and post-emergence wilting of peanut in A. niger-infested potting mixture
by more than 60% (Kishore et al., 2006).
