She could not believe her eyes. There was a lot of shiny and colourful jewellery in the box. There were bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings and even anklets. May Ling climbed down the ladder and began taking all the jewellery out from the box. She put on the different coloured bracelets on her arms. Her arms became so heavy that it was difficult to move them around. Her favourite was a red and blue bracelet with small silver bells around it. May Lihg also put on the necklaces. There were necklaces made from beads, pearls and even precious stones. There was also a beautiful diamond necklace with a heart-shaped pendant joined to it. May Ling spent the whole afternoon playing with the jewellery. She pretended that she was an Arabian princess. She put on her long dresses and placed a shawl over her head. She walked around her room, imagining that she was dancing in a ball. By the time May Ling's parents returned home in the ening, she had already put all the jewellery back in the box. She put the box in its original position at the top of the cupboard. When they asked their daughter what she did that afternoon, she just smiled at them. It was going to be her secret.
