IMPLICATIONS
Learning the motivational factors of women
who travel alone may offer useful insights for
travel marketing strategies. Therefore, it is
important to recognize that while five distinct
motivational dimensions emerged from the
factor analysis, the four most important motivational
dimensions based on over-all mean
were Experience, Escape, Relax, and Social.
This finding is noteworthy to marketers interested
in segmenting the solo female travel
market. For example, based on the most
important ‘Experience’ factor, the marketing
teams of the tourism departments in any
country or region might be interested in
attracting solo women travelers by promoting
a new experience, particularly those associated
with the cultural features and various
cultural events. Also, the results of this study
indicate that a promotional campaign highlighting
the motivations of new experience
and escape, for example, adding some cultural
activities at a spa, might attract women who
want to escape from the routine pressure and
see and experience something different.
