Simply annotate unknown protein by directly transferring the
functions from one or more similar proteins (homologous)
Pros
• Requires only the proteins sequences (no advanced info)
• Is naturally an incremental method
Cons
• Similar sequences might have different functions
• It can suffer of comprehensibility because of using the whole
sequence to determine protein function
