All enthalpy changes found were positive, indicating that the extraction process is endothermic and requires an energy input during the process. The positive values of entropy indicate the irreversibility of the process and the values of the Gibbs free energy changes for the soybean oil extraction were negative, showing the spontaneity of this process. Decreasing values of G◦ were found for higher biodiesel additions in the solvent and also at higher temperatures. This observation states that the use of biodiesel as cosolvent of the ethanol, as well as the temperature increase, favors the oil extraction from soybean flakes.
