The use of double gloves is advisable given that a large number of perforations routinely occur during orthopedic procedures. Ritter et al [34] demonstrated that the contamination rate of gloves is about the same for all scrubbed personnel,
whether these be single or double gloves (33%).
However, more holes are noted in the gloves of personnel who use their hands more strenuously, and fewer holes were
identified with the use of double gloves.
