One month, two weeks.
Youngjae had been living with Jung Daehyun for a month and two weeks now since that day he was shot. It was strange; time felt like it was moving so slow and yet it felt like it was just flying by. He pulled his knees to his chest and hid his face between them. Honestly, time had flown by without him ever even realizing it. He'd been working on this case for going on six months now. When he really thought about it, he'd learned a lot about Jung Daehyun. Youngjae was certain by now he had enough to have the man arrested and put behind bars.
But, he didn't want that. He was supposed to see Himchan at his decoy parents' hotel tomorrow. For the first time, he wasn't looking foward to seeing his best friend. Youngjae didn't want to reveal anymore of Jung Daehyun's secrets. Youngjae looked over his shoulder when he heard the door opening, smiling when his lover walked through. “Hi.” He didn't want to betray Daehyun anymore.
Daehyun smiled back at him before nodding his head in greeting. The older man had been so quiet lately, rarely opening his mouth to say anything. He wasn't so cold anymore. . . just quiet. Emotionless. Youngjae wasn't sure if it was worse than him being cold or not. It was like Jung Daehyun had put up some kind of wall that he just couldn't break through. Youngjae breathed in shakily. He'd thought about it a lot – maybe Daehyun knew. Maybe, he'd known all along.
