Some PrEP recipients will continue to engage in veryhigh-
risk behavior and become HIV infected. These
newly diagnosed HIV-positive patients will need to be
linked to HIV primary care. Linkages between primary
care providers and HIV care providers will need to be
established and/or strengthened in order to coordinate
the effective and effıcient care-to-care transfer of these
post-PrEP, HIV-positive patients. Public health agencies
can help coordinate such efforts to ensure that patients
are linked to HIV care quickly, a critical step for improving
patient outcomes and public health.
