In this paper in order to develop an optimal order picking policy for AS/RS mathematical modeling is used as a solution
technique. It is obtained an optimal solution in small solution space for the system handled with GAMS 22.6. But in large
solution spaces it is could not be possible to obtain optimal solution.
The developed mathematical model gives optimal solution for only up to103 material that’s why simulated annealing
algorithm is secondly used as a solution technique. According to Table 6 cost minimization value of SA algorithm and cost
minimization value of the mathematical model, which is obtained in GAMS 22.6, that is developed on the basis of dedicated
storage allocation are adjacent for 103 materials. So this solution proves that SA algorithm gives near optimal solutions.
Lastly the developed mathematical model which takes into account density of materials and the groups of the materials is
coded within the basis of SA algorithm in order to minimize the costs of storage keeping, storage assigning and storage retrieval
costs for all stored materials in existing system. Obtained solution results are given in Table 7.
5. Conclusion
