implementation within small businesses. In general, the
duties undertaken by external expertise comprise IS project
management, encouraging employees to accept new systems
and overcome their fear of new technology, fulfilling
information requirements analysis of business needs, IS user
training and recommending suitable computer hardware and

external supports provided by vendors are essential for
SMEs having no sufficient IT expertise to implement these
