The City Pillar Shrine, located in the City Hall compound, was constructed in 1977 as a four-gabled pavilion to house the city pillar as well as statues of the gods Naraya and Vishnu. A spire top, or Prang, shelters the majestic city pillar. The pillar itself is made of the wood of the golden shower tree, or Chaiyaphruek. In addition, inside is the statue of a four-handed Naraya, and a bronze-cast Vishnu statue. In the rear of the Mondop (a sacred square structure with a spire), reside Phra Yot Thong votive tablets of a temple named Wat Kai Tia as well as many sacred charms and amulets from Pathum Thani.
The shrine is open from 8.00 am-6.00 pm daily.
