Chicago’s London Guarantee Building is being redeveloped into LondonHouse, a 452-room lifestyle hotel that is scheduled to open on the southern end of the city’s Magnificent Mile in spring 2016.
LondonHouse, located at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive, will be built out of the 92-year-old building and an adjoining 22-story tower under construction.

The hotel will include 25,000 square feet of meeting space and a rooftop dining area in the older building’s cupola.
LondonHouse is a nod to the old London House jazz club that was housed in the London Guarantee Building before closing in the 1970s. Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans and Dave Brubeck were among the jazz luminaries who played there.
The hotel is being developed by Oxford Capital Group, which has built 11 Chicago-area hotels.
Most notably, Oxford Capital redeveloped the Langham Chicago out of the IBM Tower, which was built in 1973 just across the Chicago River from the London Guarantee Building and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. That 316-room hotel opened in 2013.
