2.5.3. Determination of the Minimal Bactericidal Concentration (MBC)
This determination followed the method described by
Fernandes et al. (2008), where 20 lL aliquots of negative wells
(no growth was observed) were taken and plated in MHA (Biokar
Diagnostics, Beauvais, France), and incubated at 37 C for 48 h.
The MBC determined corresponded to the concentration that
allows the initial viable cells to be reduced by at least 99.9%.
