The high survival rate results in the current study are consistent with that recorded by Dernekbasi et al. (1993)
who observed good survival rates in all Guppies treated with S. platensis using 40% S. platensis supplementation.
However, the previous study did not mention the form of S. platensis used; in addition, the difference in the
spirulina concentration could be related to the difference in the feeding habits of the fish species. In contrary to
our results Abdel-Tawwab and Ahmed (2009), and Ungsethaphand et al. (2010) found no significant changes in
the survival rates of fish dietary supplemented with S. platensis at different concentrations
