The intake levels estimated for the various aflatoxin types in this
study ranged from 0.003 to 0.852 mgkg1
bwd1 with AFB1
recording the highest levels in the mixed cereal-based food. The
exposure levels for the aflatoxins were found to be higher than the
PMTDI of 1.0 ngkg1
bwd1 for adults and children without hepatitis
B signifying that continuous exposure to such cereal-based
foods could pose serious adverse health effect to such susceptible
groups of individuals
