2. The difference between pre-education and post education HbA1c, total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL cholesterol, systolic and diastolic blood pressure averages of patients included in the research was found to be statistically significant, and the values of these metabolic control variables significantly decreased after the given education. Although the difference between other metabolic control parameters—HDL cholesterol, body mass index and waist circumference—was statistically insignificant, average values of waist circumference showed a decrease and no increase was obtained in HDL cholesterol values. At the end of the education given to patients, metabolic control variables changed in a positive manner.This result supports our 2nd hypothesis.
