their own physiological condition. Hence, animals exposed to
management will choose behavior suitable for that management,
their current location, and physiological state. Animals can interact
with each other in a variety of ways ranging from simple local-density dependent interactions to complex behavioral messaging,
depending upon animal type and current activity. All animals share
a common basic form of control simulated as a state machine.
This means that they exhibit behavior associated with a specific
state, and make transitions to other behavioral states as a result of
internal or external cues
