The results for the two possible modes of power generation (described in Section 2.3 above) on a monthly basis are
summarized in Table 3.
Based on the specific LFG consumption of 600m3/1 MWh of LFG and the other pre-determined parameters, the intermittent generation mode resulted with an annual net income of US$ 1.61 million compared to US$ 1.36 million under continuous generation mode. The difference of US$ 251 thousand (about 19%) is significant and reflects a weighted average income of 16.03 US¢/kWh vs.14.15 US¢/kwh as shown in Table 1. The present value of the added net income, over 20 years of operation, discounted at an interest rate of 5% would amount to US$3,126,000. The O&M costs are indicated in the output table in order to present the full costs of the plant.
