The Omaha System’s Problem Scheme was used to identify and classify health care problems identified by the women and/or the APNs. Each problem was assigned to one of the system’s four broad (level 1) classifications or “domains,” including: 1) environmental; 2) psychosocial; 3) physiological; and, 4) health-related behaviors. Each of these domains contains five to 16 subcategories of problems, for a total of 44 subcategories.
