3.3 Section, you are going to learn about series connection of solar panels. There are five solar panels (Figure 3.1) with five pairs of connectors; each pair consists of a positive and negative leg.
Now, complete the following steps.
1.Connect six solar panels in a series connection. Please ask me or P’Por if you don’t know how to do it Once the connection has been made Don’t TOUCH ANY METALLIC COMPONET.
2.Use the ammeter and voltmeter to measure the current and the voltage. These are the total current and the voltage from the four panels. At the same time, use the light meter to measure the amount of sunlight that hits the panels in W/m2. You can also check the reading from the multimeter to that from the controller and see if you have the same number.
3.Disconnect the wire and repeat step 2 for each panel. These are the current and voltage form each panel.
4.Repeat step 1 to 3 for five times to get more results. The number might be different from the previous measurement depending on the amount of sunlight.
5.Use your data to verify equation 3 and 4. Then explain your results.
