FIRE EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
5.3 OPERATOR RESPONSE
5.3.1 Upon receipt of call, to ascertain:
- Caller’s name and department.
- Location of fire/smoke.
5.3.2 Activate group paging for ERT (short code: ….or Fire) "Go to……….(exact location)".
5.3.3 Once fire is confirmed by ERT, situation is emergency code "FIRE".
5.3.4 To alert the following personnel:
- Manager on Duty (MOD) for weekend/public holiday
- Director of Engineering
- Director of Security
- Director of Rooms
- Housekeeping Manager
- Front Office Manager
- General Manager
- Communications Manager
- Department Heads and Division Heads concerned.
5.3.5 When instructed by Duty Manager on Duty, notify the Fire and Rescue Services Department at telephone 032-471222 (Cha am Fire station) and inform Security Control Office.
5.3.6 Upon instructed by the Duty Manager on Duty, telephone hotel clinic 082- 7821292 and request Nurse on Duty to attend to scene immediately.
(If on duty)
5.3.7 Upon instructed by the Duty Manager on Duty, call for ambulance (tel. no. 032-471808 Cha am Hospital) and inform Security Control Office.
5.3.8 Telephone Supervisor to fill up ACTION LOG .
5.3.9 Use the following phrase to answer guest queries:
A small fire is reported at (location). Our Fire Fighting team is now investigating and we will advise you of the situation as soon as possible.
5.3.10 Keep a log of guest calls and follow up with guests concerned once investigation is concluded.
5.3.11 In case of evacuation, follow the evacuation procedures.
5.3.12 Telephone Manager/Supervisor to keep a log of incident in chronological order.
FIRE EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
5.4 DUTY MANAGER ON DUTY RESPONSE
(Emergency Response Team Leader)
5.4.1 Upon receipt of paging, proceed to the exact location.
5.4.2 Proceed to the scene immediately with the following essential items:
- Master key
- Torch light
- Walkie talkie, pager, DECT phone
5.4.3 If fire is present, informs Telephone Operator to notify LCMT and Fire and Rescue Services Department at telephone 085-9180981 or 081-8454554 Khun Victor Sukseree
5.4.4 Deploy Emergency Team members to combat fire.
5.4.5 If there are any casualties, to instruct Operator to send the Nurse on Duty.
5.4.6 Once confirmed with the Nurse on Duty, inform Operator to call for an ambulance.
5.4.7 If fire is spreading, use judgment to initiate evacuation after consulting with the General Manager.
5.4.8 The Fire and Rescue Services Department personnel will take charge on arrival.
5.4.9 Instruct all members of staff to evacuate except Duty Security Officer.
5.4.10 Station one Security Personnel at the fire area to keep watch after the fire is extinguished.
5.4.11 Inform Financial Controller's office to report to Insurance Company. During public holidays and outside office hours, contact the loss adjusters yourself.
5.4.12 Instruct Security Personnel to take color photos of affected area and pass over to Financial Controller.
5.4.13 Provide the loss adjusters with the following information:
- Discovery of fire
- Spread, stop and extinguishment of fire
- Measures taken to minimize the loss.
5.4.14 Compile a list of damaged items with Housekeeping and Engineering departments.
5.4.15 After appropriate inspections, restore affected areas immediately.
5.4.16 Keep a log of incident in chronological order.
