P. infestans
is dispersed by wind-borne sporangia,
located at the leaf stomata, where they encyst and germi-
nate to initiate infection. Xcn1 from
X. nematophila
var.
pekingensis
suppressed mycelial growth and sporogenesis
of
P. infestans
, reducing disease development, and also
decreasing secondary infection of the fungus.
Efficacy of Xcn1 against
P. infestans
Data on the efficacy of Xcn1 against late blight in potato
leaf disks are listed in Table

. The results showed that
Xcn1 is able to reduce the disease incidence of potato late
