The pitch detection algorithm converts the digital signal using a fast Fourier transformation (FFT) with the data being recorded at 11 025 samples per second, 2048 FFT sample size, and 16 bits per sample. When a player’s pitch or amplitude go above or below the threshold derived for each vocal exercise, a pop-up box will appear at the bottom of their screen.
