Posting this cause more people seem to care more about selfies than music so now that I have your attention I want to remind you guys about the importance of "first week sales”. There’s a lot of great bands putting out new albums this year and as some of you may or may not know our debut album comes out August 19th next month and this is our very first record. So its naturally very important to us and to the future of our band. Now I don’t know each individual listening habit of everyone in the world but I can tell you guys that I personally listen to SO much music from all kinds of genres. With that being said obviously it gets unrealistic to buy the album from every single band or artist that you like, but the point I’m making is that you should do your best to actively pay for at least your very favorite bands' albums, especially in the younger stages of their careers if a band you really love is younger/newer.
As a lot of you probably know, there isn’t an insane amount of money in music sales anymore, especially not in more independent and alternative genres like the ones myself and a lot of the bands you guys love are involved in. Which is fine because I think I speak for most of us when I say we don't play or make music for money. But for some reason a bands worth in the music industry can heavily rely on the amount of albums they sell within a 7 day period of it’s release. First week sales. Now while myself and a lot of people think this is quite an outdated way to measure how well a band is doing, considering how dramatically the ways that we all listen to music have evolved. It is how it is and we have to do our best as artists to make it work. With that being said if you want to support bands you love, and keep them on tour and active, do your best to buy their album before or during the week of it's initial release so they have a better chance of getting on great tours and coming to your city. Keep music healthy. Don't forget that Sylar, A Day To Remember, and The Color Morale are all putting out new albums next month so if you can't get ours get one of theirs.
