The amount of active ingredient (number of L. reuteri CRL 1324 viable
cells) before and after encapsulation and freeze-drying processes
and during storage (0, 21, 60 and 150 days) was determined in samples
of all the systems assayed. Survival rate during encapsulation or lyophilization
was expressed as NAE/NBE or NAL/NBL, where NAE and NBE are the log CFU/g after encapsulation and before encapsulation, respectively,and NAL and NBL are the log CFU/g after lyophilization
and before lyophilization,respectively
