The Tower of London was originally built in 1078. It was used as a home for the kings and queens of England for almost six hundred years, but also served as a prison. Two of the most famous prisoners in the Tower were the young princes Edward and Richard. In 1483,Richard the Third, their uncle and king of England, put them in the tower. They were never seen again. The princes were ten and thirteen years old. Today, people say the tower is haunted by their ghosts.
