Table 1 shows the mean scores of the schools that participated in both surveys. The mean total score increased from 1.7 (median = 1.7; IQR = 1.5–1.8) in 2008 to 2.2 (median = 2.4; IQR = 1.9–2.5) in 2009, a 1.3-fold increase. The mean scores of all five components increased. The largest difference was detected in component 5: school and community partnership, where the mean score increased from 1.0 (median = 1.0; IQR = 0.5–1.5) in 2008 to 2.4 (median = 2.5; IQR = 2.0–3.0) in 2009. Increases in the scores of the other components were as follows: component 1 increased from 2.0 (median = 2.0; IQR = 1.7–2.3) to 2.2 (median = 2.3; IQR = 1.9–2.6); component 2 increased from 1.3 (median = 1.3; IQR 1.0–1.6) to 1.9 (median = 2.1; IQR = 1.6–2.2); component 3 increased from 2.0 (median = 2.1; IQR = 1.6–2.5) to 2.6 (median = 2.6; IQR = 2.3–3.0) and component 4 increased from 2.3 (median = 2.1; IQR = 2.0–2.6) to 2.6 (median = 2.6; IQR = 2.1–3.0).
