4. Conclusions
Potassium sorbate showed an inhibitory effect againstB. cinerea.
The MIC reported in this study was 0.1% (w/v) when added in po-tato dextrose agar.
It was possible to produce extruded PCRPET packaging for
products such as berries that contain up to 4.0 wt.% K S. The ef fi cacy
of the active packaging (2.5 and 4.0 wt.% of K S) was demonstrated
by the agar diffusion method, and the higher concentration of K S
was more effective.
The speci fi c migration values were within the compliance
threshold stated in food legislation (JECFA), ensuring the safety of
the active packaging produced in this work .
However, key packaging properties (optical and mechanical)
