The studies presented in this paper are of a qualitative and explorative nature, providing some insight into the issues older adults face when using, and learning to use, new technologies, as well as directions for facilitating the acceptance and adoption of technologies, and the learning processes involved. Small-scale qualitative studies have the advantage that they provide a rich picture of the ideas and experiences of the participants; but they are limited in the sense that they are not able to provide a complete and representative picture of all the issues that are involved. In order to provide a concise picture, to inspire further research in this
area, we summarised our results in two models.
