In this work, a facile method is established for the preparation
of core–shell molecularly imprinted polymers for the specific
extraction of protein based on carboxyl-functionalized Fe3O4
nanoparticles. Due to a combination of surface molecular imprinting
technique and non-covalent template immobilization strategy,
the prepared imprinted nanomaterials exhibit fast recognition,
high binding capacity, and satisfactory selectivity toward template
protein. Successful application in the selective isolation and recovery
of BHb from bovine blood sample shows potential values in the
specific separation and enrichment of macromolecules so as to
provide an alternative solution for the preparatory work of proteomics.
In addition, the result of versatility investigation indicates
that the facile preparation method is more suitable for basic
proteins.
