height
Heterobeltiosis for plant height ranged from
–25.76% (JL-220 x ICGV-99029) to 35.09% (TPT-
4 x K-1375). Among twenty eight F1s studied, twenty
F1s exhibited significant positive heterosis over better
parent. Seven F1s recorded significant and negative
heterosis over better parent. The F1, ICGV-99029 x
TCGS-647 recorded the highest significant positive
heterosis over better parent. The range of heterosis
over mid parent varied from -20.83% (JL-220 x
ICGV-99029) to 41.73% (TPT-4 x K-1375).
Significant positive heterosis was observed in nine
F1s, while significant negative heterosis was noticed
in only two F1 (Table 1). The F1, JL-220 x TCGS-
647 recorded the highest significant positive heterosis
over mid-parent. Standard heterosis ranged from
–22.92% (JL-220 x ICGV-99029) to 39.56%
(ICGV-99029 x TCGS-647). Significant positive
heterosis was observed in eight F1s and significant
negative heterosis was noticed in three F1s.
